Sapling Subtitles is waiting for the Chrome Web Store to approve it. Until then, load it yourself:

  1. Download the zip above, then unzip it (on Windows, right-click → Extract All; on a Mac, double-click it). Keep the folder somewhere it won't be deleted.
  2. Open your extensions page by pasting this into the address bar:
  3. Turn on Developer mode (the switch in the top-right corner), then click Load unpacked and pick the unzipped folder.
  4. Click the puzzle piece next to the address bar and pin Sapling. Click the mascot to sign in or make a free account, and choose the languages you're learning.
  5. Open a YouTube video with subtitles in your language and hover a word.

Chrome may remind you that a developer-mode extension is on; that's expected for anything loaded this way. When the store version is out, remove this one and add that instead so it updates itself.
